Get to know me

Hi, I’m Caitlin Childs — a natural light photographer with roots in Santa Rosa and the Napa Valley.

My style leans toward photojournalism — candid, real, and unposed. I love capturing the small, in-between moments.

Photography is also a way for me to give back. I work in nonprofit communications, where I have the privilege of documenting the resilience and hope of young people overcoming huge challenges. These experiences shape how I see the world — and how I photograph it. I aim to create images filled with warmth, dignity, and authenticity, because I believe everyone deserves to be seen that way.

When I’m not working my day job, or photographing weddings, portraits, or bands, you’ll find me with a camera in hand while traveling. I'm a sucker for everything from a quick weekend trip to an overseas adventure.

At the end of the day, what matters most to me is capturing photographs that feel honest, vibrant, and alive. I want to leave you with images you can look back on years from now and still feel the joy and energy of that moment.

To me, photography is about taking a pause, and waiting for the right moment to come to me.
